What a wonderful review for the book Understanding the Challenge of “NO” for Children with Autism
Here is what Joan Landy, former Director of Special Education for Arlington Public Schools and former Professor of Special Education wrote:
I loved the message. The author’s portrayal of real life situations couldn’t have been more on target. I liked that she could break down the interchanges and then provide useful suggestions on how to repair the miscommunication. Her rationale and examples for rephrasing were specific and thorough. It’s not often that a source does that. Although the book is aimed for parents and professionals working with people with autism, the message shouldn’t be limited to that audience. It’s perfect for anyone working with some special populations. I can see this book used as the foundation for a college course or professional development opportunity.
